Kinesiology – Touch for Health

TOUCH FOR HEALTH KINESIOLOGY

Kinesiology is a safe, gentle and non-invasive therapy that uses manual muscle testing to determine where the client may have imbalances in their energy system.  It is wellness orientated and treats the whole person – mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Kinesiology benefits the muscles and posture, organs, vascular and lymph systems, hormonal balance and mood.

I had three sessions with Helen when I was off work. I was in physical pain and feeling at a low ebb.  I didn’t believe that this would make a difference and was apprehensive to begin with.  After the first session I started to think this actually works.  By the end I felt mentally fantastic, more positive and happy in myself and with greatly reduced pain.  A weight has been lifted off my shoulders, I have more enthusiasm and spend more time with my family.  Steve – East Meon.

Dr John Thie, the founder of Touch for Health Kinesiology has been quoted as stating that:

The single most important thing that we can do is to help someone discover the purpose and meaning of their own life ……….. if we can help someone take that next step in discovering themselves and becoming more complete and whole, then we have truly accomplished something!

This is one of the reasons that I love Touch for Health.  It brings awareness to the body in many ways.  Rather than living in our head for so much of the time we become aware of what the body is doing, how it is feeling and where it is imbalanced.  We then use the meridian system, acupressure, massage or light touch to restore the body’s energy.

How does kinesiology work?

According to the principles of kinesiology, certain muscles or groups of muscles relate to specific body parts and body systems. Muscle testing, or muscle monitoring, can determine where weaknesses and imbalances are occurring in the body. We are not testing the physical strength of a muscle but monitoring the muscle response as an indicator of changes in energy flowing through the body.  Kinesiology is a form of bio-feedback; in other words, we let the body speak to us about its energy flow.

What does kinesiology involve?

The tests are carried out by putting the arms and legs in certain positions to monitor the muscle; establishing how well the energy is flowing through the muscle being tested.   Balancing the body is carried out, amongst others, by holding specific energy points on the head (neurovasculars), rubbing reflex points on the body (neurolymphatics), running the meridians or ‘jiggling’ the muscle involved.

Touch for Health Kinesiology is helpful for all kinds of physical, mental and emotional problems including aches, pains and tension and stress of any sort.

What are the benefits of kinesiology?

Because kinesiology works on the body at a very deep level it is particularly useful for releasing stress and past trauma as well as helping with the current physical and mental problems the client is experiencing.  It balances posture, helps restore natural energies, improve functioning and achieving goals.

Kinesiology is non-invasive and very often it is discovered that a physical problem is helped by establishing, and healing, a long-buried emotional issue.

In most cases, it will be necessary to have follow-up treatments.  It is generally a good idea to have at least three treatments initially.  As Kinesiology works subtly and on a deep level this is usually enough time to really notice the benefits.

Goal setting

In Touch for Health we include a goal prior to the balancing process.  After a Touch for Health balance much of the stress previously associated with the goal is diffused.  This means that in future, when we think of our goal, the brain is less stressed and we are then able to move forward in our life in order to achieve our goal.
