Ear Candling is also known as thermo-auricular therapy, originating from the Hopi Indians of America; a centuries old culture. Ear candles are a safe and natural treatment for many ailments of the ear, nose and throat. It is a deeply relaxing procedure incorporating the warmth and magic of fire
Ear Candles are relaxing and soothing as they help clear the whole head, work on the lymph circulation and regulate pressure in the head. Great at the end of a cold when the stuffiness continues, headaches due to nasal congestion, dizziness due to ear wax and sore throats (not related to a cold).
I only use Traditional Biosun Ear Candles. Of the many different makes of ear candles these are the only ones acceptable to insurance companies. They include a safety filter and are made or natural ingredients including cotton, bees wax, honey extract, sage and chamomile.
What is the ear?
The ear is the organ of hearing and balance. It is connected to the nose and throat, via the eustachian tube and divides into the external, middle and inner ears
The external ear collects sound waves and transmits them to the ear drum. This vibrates and sends the sound to three bones in the middle ear (hammer, anvil and stapes). These then vibrate and the sound is then transported to the cochlea in the inner ear. Vibrations in the inner ears fluid filled cavity are converted into sound impulses which the brain translates into sound.
